Learning Objectives

By attending this webinar, you’ll dive into:

  • The Fuel Market in Chaos
Understand the macro forces — crude volatility, supply chain pass-through, terminal inventory behavior — and why they make your job harder.
  • Gas Tax Holidays: Behind the Headlines
Why the political announcement and the operational reality are completely different — and what a mid-month suspension actually does to your filing schedule.
  • CPI-Linked Fuel Tax Rates
Roughly 5–6 states tie their tax rate to CPI or average wholesale price. Rates auto-adjust without legislation which can cause costly miscalculations on high-volume transactions.
  • Supply Chain Trickle-Down Effect
Walk through the full chain: crude price spike → refinery costs rise → distributor prices rise → terminal inventory swings → your tax returns impacted. Nobody absorbs the loss — it always flows forward to the consumer.
  • Staying in Control: Best Practices Checklist
Review month-over-month liability before every payment. Annotate variances contemporaneously. Build team protocols, cross-train, and connect with industry updates before they catch you off guard.
  • Live Q&A
Bob and Kelly take your toughest questions on audit scenarios, reporting edge cases, and staying compliant when the market won’t hold still.
